ABOUT US

Drone Hopper is a Spanish start-up created to design, manufacture and operate heavy-duty, multi-rotor unmanned drones. We also innovate drone technology to empower and protect communities while filling the substantial gap in the mid-scale drone market. The drones are intended to be used mainly on wildfire and urban firefighting and agricultural operations. We have highly experienced team members with multidisciplinary profiles, including accumulated 80+ years experience in aeronautical engineering at Airbus and other leading UAV companies.

OUR PRODUCTS

FAMILY CONCEPT

The design of our platforms follow a common layout, dubbed as the HOPPER platform. This common platform has several core features:

  • 6 Power plant systems (Hexacopter). This number of engines allows to cope with safe-landing after 1-engine lost requirement in an optimum way, requiring minimum overshoot power from remaining engines.
     

  • Rectangular shape, in order to maximize propeller size while enabling standardized transportation.

  • Thermal engines, in order to overcome known limitation of electrical systems interms payload, flight time and mission turn-around time.

  • Primary attitude control system based on aerodynamic surfaces.

  • Secondary attitude control system (back-up) bases on patented “cross hybrid” stability system, enabling operations in harsh conditions (i.e. crosswind).

  • Use of horizontal EDF (Electrical Ducted Fan) for yaw control and horizontal thrust, to increase horizontal speed.
